During this trip, we will take you to paraglide at several locations in the Central region of Lombok. All of the flying sites are from hills that are facing the sea.

Wind condition in Central region of Lombok is consistent to be from one direction throughout the day at an average of 10-20kmh, which makes it really easy to fly all day long and most of the time until sunset. The wind is not too strong at the takeoff therefore it is suitable even for beginner pilots. The paragliding sites along the southern coast of Central Lombok is flyable throughout the year, as the raining season on the Northern region is not affecting the southern coast’s micro climate.

The best season to paraglide in Lombok is between March until October when the weather is more dry throughout the whole island. The southern coast of Central region’s flying sites are well developed to be accessible by ordinary vehicle to the takeoff areas whereas the Northern region’s flying sites requires some hiking to the takeoff (with average elevation of 500m or roughly 40 minutes of hiking).

General Information
Lombok is geographically located next to Bali’s eastern coast. Lombok also colloquially known as “The Better Bali” for most travellers that are looking for destinations with modern facilities, eateries, entertainment and outdoor activities but without the crowded flock of tourists on the streets or beaches which is a common sighting in Bali.

The island is about the size of Bali and has four regions namely Northern, Western, Central and Eastern. Most paragliding sites are located in the Central and Northern regions, where the latter is popular for hike & fly paragliding from hills at the base of Mount Rinjani.

Lombok is situated slightly south of the equator but still within the tropical climate zone, so it has the same temperature with Bali but paragliding sites in the Northern region will have much lower temperature due to their high elevation from the sea level.

Getting Here
It is fairly easy to get to Lombok island. There are many international flights to Bali where you can take another domestic flights with Citilink from Bali to Lombok. There are ferry service from Bali to Lombok but it will take roughly 4 hours to get to Mataram town north of Lombok.

Some countries provides direct flights to Lombok via AirAsia and Batik Air. You can use apps such as Traveloka to get the best flight fare to Lombok.
